History of The JAÉIOU Company:
Founded in 1999 JAÉIOU Records started as an R&B / Hip-Hop Duo; brothers, Keishunn L. Reed and Markus A. Reed began writing and producing together and as a result "Just Us"---J.U. for short, was born. After only a few short months "Just Us" grew into "J.U. Productions", a production team that the two brothers started. With Keishunn's experience and knowledge of the music business, younger brother Markus convinced him that they should start their own record company. The two brothers partnered with entrepreneur and businessman Sir Churchill Williams and JAÉIOU Entertainment was formed as a DBA in Houston, Harris County.
Mr. Keishunn L. Reed a native of Shreveport, LA. has resided in Houston, TX. since the age of eight years. He attended both, Willowridge and Ross S. Sterling Senior High Schools. Having been an active member of every band and/or choir during his school years it was very obvious to him that upon graduation, he would seek a career in the music and entertainment business. With the help and support from "Dino", former lead singer of the platinum selling group, H-Town, he formed the trio, III ARTYST (formally known as Ammaretto) in 1991. The endless struggles to become successful in the music industry has taught, groomed, prepared and encouraged Keishunn to continue on and make his mark in the music industry, especially in regards to Soulful Sounds of the South. With 18+ years of experience in the music industry and music business, and the support from his dedicated wife Mary L.A. Reed, Keishunn set out to make JAÉIOU Entertainment the premier entertainment company representing the South.
2006 marked the dawn of a new beginning with JAÉIOU Entertainment taking on a new legal structure as The JAÉIOU Company, a Texas Limited Liability Company; as Keishunn took a small Production Company and grew it into a successful Entertainment Company. The JAÉIOU Company LLC is one of the Bayou City's most anticipated small businesses, and after aggressively soliciting for start-up funding through traditional banking, government grants/loans, venture capitalists and equity investors Keishunn Reed successfully attained SBA funding in 2006. The JAÉIOU Company presently has two primary projects in the works; one being the The Just Us Foundation, a 501(c)(3) Non-profit Organization created to support families and cultural/arts organizations located primarily in Houston Texas. And secondly, "The Set", a Poetical Stage Play written by Keishunn and long time friend and former business partner Varion ‘Se7en’ Howard. Most recently Keishunn has partnered with Don Andress, naming him Senior Vice President/COO of The JAÉIOU Company LLC.
